Stained glass window frame repair is a critical component of any church stained glass repair.  Our old historic churches with wood frames on their stained glass windows frequently have been neglected and are in need of repair to maintain the structural integrity needed to hold the heavy stained glass.
A major problem with wood framed stained glass is incorrectly installed protective glass.  Almost every project we started on for frame repair was the result of poorly installed coverings. Sealed protective glass creates a "greenhouse effect" or "hot house" effect. Heat is trapped along with moisture causing wood rot, lead matrix oxidation and steel vent rust.
